At WabiSab Studio, our creative journey has always been deeply inspired by the quiet beauty of imperfection, the authenticity of handmade work, and the soulful power of feminine energy. This May, we are honoured to be part of an incredible event that speaks to all those values and more.

Hands of Creation, a group exhibition at Palangi Gallery, is a celebration of the creative spirit of Persian women artists in honour of International Mother’s Day. From 15 May to 7 June 2025, the gallery transforms into a space where identity, heritage, and the transformative essence of womanhood converge through mixed media, painting, sculpture, and calligraphy.

Curated by Sydney-based artists and the team at Palangi Gallery, this exhibition is more than an art show—it’s a love letter to women. To mothers, daughters, creators, and storytellers. It is a gathering of artistic voices whose hands have not only shaped clay and canvas but also carried the stories of generations.

As the founder of WabiSab Studio, I am incredibly proud to contribute one of my Paper Mache sculptures to this exhibition—an art form rooted in patience, layering, and the quiet rhythm of time. My piece is a tribute to the women in my life, especially the mothers, whose hands—though weathered or tender—continue to hold, create, comfort, and heal.

“A woman’s true energy lives in her hands—they reflect her imaginative mind and radiant heart, hands that breathe life into art.” – Farideh Zariv

These words echo deeply within my own practice. Every piece I create is made with intention, often influenced by traditional techniques, natural textures, and the timeless philosophy of Wabi Sabi—a Japanese worldview that embraces imperfection, impermanence, and the beauty of things modest and humble.

Hands of Creation is a rare and beautiful moment where cultural identity, contemporary art, and the spirit of motherhood meet. Whether you're a fellow artist, an art lover, or someone simply drawn to the quiet strength of handmade work, I invite you to come experience the stories woven through each piece.
